This Australian owned and operated business exists to serve Aussies with a massive range of brand name electronics, whitegoods and small appliances at prices you can afford.
Close friends Elliot “El” Ramler and Jonathon “Jo” Green kicked things off around here in 2008. About to finish their respective university degrees at Monash University in Melbourne, these two entrepreneurs felt the retail landscape had to change. Australians were being asked to pay too much for quality electrical goods, with savings only available after lengthy in store negotiations. They figured it was about time someone sourced brand name products and minimised unnecessary overheads. In doing so, customers could avoid drawn out negotiations with often manipulative in store sales staff, and just get the best prices for the products they wanted each and every time – from the comfort of their living room!
So far, El and Jo’s vision has been rewarded, being nominated as one of Australia’s largest start-ups across any industry when Eljo.com.au were listed in the BRW Fast Starters list for 2011.
How are we different?
In the past, shopping online came with loads of pitfalls. No transparent business information. No way to contact the store for sales advice or post sale service. No Australian warranties or power plugs. Deliveries would turn up at any time, or not at all! The list goes on.
